Scholarship Information and Application
The Flying Tigers 69th D.R.S. Association is offering competitive academic scholarship awards for distribution during the current or following school year. These awards are funded by the following commemorative scholarship programs:

► Doris van Tanner Tursky Memorial Scholarship Endowment
In order to be eligible to compete for the scholarship award, the applicant must meet the following qualifications:
• Be a family member (e.g., child, grandchild, niece/nephew, great-niece/-nephew etc.) of a current U.S. Armed Forces member or veteran.
• Be accepted or enrolled in a university, college, technical program, or other relevant higher education program.
• Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 in the academic program (or based upon secondary school records for entering freshmen).
• Submit an official application form, with all supporting documentation and essays.

The application deadline is August 15 for the current school year unless an extended deadline is noted on the Home page of this website. Applications received after August 15 (or extended deadline) will be considered for the following school year. Scholarship recipients will be notified by phone.
Students may reapply for scholarship funding annually (see conditions on application form). The Flying Tigers 69th D.R.S Assn. Executive Board will make the final determination of award distribution.

Note: The Scholarship Committee may utilize information on the familial relationships of the applicants to the designated service members or veterans in final award decisions. Priorities will be assigned in the following order:
1. Veterans who have served with the 69th D.R.S., 14th AF Flying Tigers,
2. Veterans who have served with the AVG or 14th Air Force during WWII,
3. Veterans who served in the China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater,
4. Current members or Veterans of the 14th Air Force (post WWII).
5. Current members or Veterans of the U.S. Air Force.
6. Current members or Veterans of other U.S. Armed Forces organizations.
