Scholarship Funds

The Chennault 69th DRS A&P Scholarship was established in 2025, originally named the Marty Oxenburg Scholarship Fund (established 2007). The Flying Tigers 69th Depot Repair Squadron were the men serving under General Claire Chennault that kept the planes flying during the China, Burma, India campaign of WWII. This scholarship commemorates and honors all those men by providing awards to students with a scholarly interest in the WWII China-Burma-India (CBI) theatre and a personal connection to the Flying Tigers. This Scholarship is supported in its entirety through donations.

The Doris van Tanner Tursky Endowment Scholarship was established by Henry (Hank) Tursky in 2009 to honor the life and memory of his beloved spouse. This commemorative endowment is dedicated to funding scholarship awards to individuals who will work to (i) perpetuate the heritage, values and traditions of those who served in the 14th Air Force during World War II, including the 69th Depot Repair Squadron and (ii) educate the public regarding the history of the 14th Air Force, including the 69th Depot Repair Squadron.
